One of the most beautiful, quiet and pleasant places to walk in the town. The park ‘Gorubso’. Built in the 1950s, it covers an area of 94 hectares and was originally located at the edge of the town and its main purpose was to be a green area between the Gorubso plant and the residential area. But as the town has grown, it now falls in the central part of the town, next to the House of Culture, administrative and residential buildings. In the center of the park there is a small pond with beautiful and delicate water lilies and a bridge in the middle and a beautiful rock garden. The park has very diverse vegetation, with centuries-old trees and a variety of conifers and wide, long beautiful paths (paved and lighted) suitable for walking. In the park grows the only one in the town. Kardzhali albizia with purplish-white fluffs (flowers). There is a mammoth tree, red-leaved plums, sequoia, plane trees, birches, willows, common spruces, paradise apple. There are many benches suitable for resting along the quiet lanes, under the shady trees. The park has several cafes, several playgrounds with a variety of climbing frames and slides to entertain the children. And at the eastern end of Gorubso Park is the Rosarium, in the town. In the eastern part of the town, near the former Youth Home. It was built in the late 1950s and renovated in 2003 through a civic initiative and voluntary work, strengthening the colonnade of 60 stone columns and refreshing the rose bushes along them.They enclose a space in the centre of which is a Monument to the Kiss, on which is inscribed part of Robert Burns's poem ‘In the Flowering Rye’: ‘If somebody meets somebody in the flowering rye and that somebody kisses somebody once, will anybody know when somebody kissed somebody once...’
The idea for the monument was the journalist Vildan Bayryamova's and the sculpture was made by the famous artist Emil Penchev. Inaugurated on 10.10.2003 by the prominent public figure Eng. Dimcho Mihalevsi. The monument depicts marble figures of a boy and a girl kissing. As if the whole place has a special atmosphere of mystery and romance, among the roses and a feeling of peace, warmth, quiet happiness and love.
With its parks and gardens, the town of. Kardzhali is one of the leading cities in the country for green space.
