The folklore house„Garnatskine Konatsi“-Interactive museum

Exactly two years ago, Philip undertook the construction of the first folklore house of its kind in Bulgaria, near the towns of Momchilgrad and Kardzhali, in the magical Eastern Rhodopes, along the meanders of the Varbitsa River, in the Sever‘ villa settlement. This way, he will create a home for Bulgarian folklore and crafts, where everyone will be welcome to be part of the revival and preservation of the traditions and customs of the past, which have shaped, but also preserved us as Bulgarians. The house is an interactive museum, which means that everything in the house is alive and usable, rather than just a part of the interior. Philip‘s dream is for every visitor to become part of the vibrant, revivalist Bulgarian lifestyle by experiencing the traditional crafts - weaving, tailoring, wool weaving and more.The house also has a music school with various disciplines. There is an opportunity for everyone to peek into the chambers, connect with the land and the production of the field, put on a Rhodope costume and to step back in time. For our future - the youth, year-round camps will be held, where through games and lessons, Philip will familiarize all participants with everyday things and what surrounds them. With the flour, to knead a soft dough in the wooden troughs and bake it in the old-time oven, pick fragrant herbs and spices from the garden with which to flavor their food, roll up their sleeves and roll pastry for banitsa, Rhodope klin, patatnik and more, to dig, water and take care of the crops and fruit trees in the fields so they can enjoy their produce in the fall.
