The Rock window of Dazhdovnitsa

The rock window near the village of Dazhdovnitsa is one of those places that reward every effort with unforgettable views and a deeply emotional experience. The route leading to it is not easy, but it is relatively short - approximately 30–35 minutes of ascent, involving a significant elevation gain that requires good physical fitness.

The trail begins from the main road toward Nenkovo, where vehicles can be parked at the designated area on the left side of the road. From here, visitors are treated to the well-known and impressive view of the “Heart” of Kardzhali Dam.

The path is clearly marked and gradually ascends almost to the ridge. At a certain point, the impressive rock window comes into view on the right side of the trail. From there, the route turns right toward the rock massif, with the path passing above it and leading to a neighboring rock formation.

It is from this vantage point that the most spectacular view of the rock window is revealed - a favorite spot for photographers and nature lovers who capture some of their most striking images here. The natural phenomenon is part of the Dazhdovnitsa rock-cult complex, adding an extra layer of mysticism and historical significance to the area.

Important: The trail is steep and slippery in places - be sure to wear proper hiking footwear and use trekking poles, which greatly facilitate both the ascent and the descent.
