{"id":4446,"date":"2026-03-17T15:57:35","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T12:57:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/visitkardzhali.com\/?page_id=4446"},"modified":"2026-03-17T15:57:37","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T12:57:37","slug":"dvorecz-svetilisthe","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/visitkardzhali.com\/en\/dvorecz-svetilisthe\/","title":{"rendered":"Palace-sanctuary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As early as the Bronze Age, a large cult center with temple and residential buildings was formed around the Temple of Dionysus, known as the Palace-Sanctuary of Perperikon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the Roman period, the complex underwent significant reconstructions. Access through the rock passage was cut off, and the entrance was moved to the western fortress gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fortress walls were over 2 meters thick and built using the characteristic Thracian dry-stone masonry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through the western gate, one reaches the southern entrance of the palace, which leads to an inner courtyard. In the northern part of the courtyard, a rock-carved throne can be seen.
