The adventure begins at the old water pumps in the village of Nenkovo a place that seems to carry the spirit of bygone times. This trail is not just a route, but a true journey through natural beauty and historical landmarks, taking you through several iconic spots worth seeing.

The route to Mount Bezdiven is a circular one,allowing hikers to return to the starting point after reaching the summit. The trail passes by the Stone Bridge in Nenkovo, which is not only an architectural landmark but also part of the local history. On your descent, you will also pass by Kalpak Kaya an ancient Thracian sanctuary, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The trail goes through an ancient beech forest, where you can enjoy the fresh air and the tranquility of nature. This part of the route is a true paradise for forest lovers and photographers.

Peak Bezdiven is the highest peak in the Kardzhali municipality (1140 meters), and the climb is worth every effort. Although the ascent is challenging, your efforts will be rewarded with incredible views and a sense of achievement. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a view of the endless Rhodope ridges, stretching before you like a giant painting.
It is important to note that this route is not recommended during the winter months,as it is a hunting area, and conditions can be harsh, with the trail potentially being slippery. For greater safety and comfort, we recommend hiking during the warmer seasons when nature is at its most beautiful.
