The route to Bezdiven Peak is circular, which allows tourists to return to the starting point after the climb. The trail passes by the Stone Bridge in the village of Nenkovo, which is not only an architectural landmark, but also part of local history. On the way down, you will also pass by Kalpak Kaya – an ancient Thracian sanctuary, from which an incredible panorama of the surrounding hills and valleys opens. The trail passes through a centuries-old beech forest, where you can enjoy the fresh air and the tranquility of nature. This part of the route is a true paradise for forest and photography lovers.
Bezdiven Peak is the highest point in Kardzhali Municipality (1140) and climbing it is worth every effort. Although the climb itself is difficult, your efforts will be rewarded with incredible views and a sense of achievement. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a view of the endless Rhodope ridges, which spread out before you like a giant picture.
It is important to note that the route is not recommended for the winter months, as it is a hunting area and the conditions can be harsh, and the trail can be slippery. For greater safety and comfort, we recommend climbing during the warmer seasons, when nature is at its most beautiful.
The route markings to Bezdiven are blue, making it easy to follow. However, we recommend wearing suitable hiking shoes and poles to ensure stability on the ascent and descent.
