Over the centuries, the Arda river has washed away the softer rocks, but the solid rock formations have remained intact. This has created a narrow and rugged gorge with deep crevices, high rock walls, and bizarre shapes that look as if they were carved on purpose.

Some of the most interesting sights here are the so-called abrasion pits - round holes in the rocky bottom, carved out by fast-flowing water and the pebbles swirling in it. Some of them are very small, measuring about 20 cm, while others are true giants - with a diameter of up to 8 meters and a depth of up to 15 meters.

Along the canyon, in a section of about one kilometer, there are deep crevices and pits with depths ranging from 3 to 25 meters. It is no wonder that the place is shrouded in legends. According to local legends, anyone who fell into one of these holes never came out – neither alive nor dead. It is said that a mysterious force dragged them into a dark underground world from which there was no return, and that the ravine itself was the work of the "sheitan" - the devil.

Today, Shaitan Dere remains one of the most mystical and impressive places near Arda - a wild territory for adventurers, where nature, stories, and imagination go hand in hand.

Villas "Bolyarka", Glavatartsi has a bed base of 22 beds.

The complex consists of 3 guest houses located in the upper village of Glavatartsi. We have one three-storey (maximum accommodation up to 11 people) and two two-storey fully self-contained cottages - one with maximum capacity of 6 people and one with maximum capacity of 15 people. Each cottage has a wood-burning fireplace creating a truly cosy atmosphere.

Each villa has a dining area with kitchenette and outdoor barbecue where you can prepare your own meals.

Each of our bedrooms (with 2 split mattresses) has an en-suite bathroom.

The area of the fortress is approximately 1300 square meters. The defensive fortress wall is partially built, preserved in places up to 8 m high, and the cliffs in the rest of the fortress did not need to be fortified. The construction of the fortress wall is typical for the construction of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom - the stones are well worked and white mortar is used for soldering. The defensive capabilities of the wall were reinforced by three towers: two rectangular and one semicircular, which were three-storeyed. The underground floors were plastered with mortar plaster, obtained by mixing mortar with crushed brick and large pieces of pottery. They served as water reservoirs.

Movement between the floors of the towers was by internal stone stairs. Those entering the fortress had to walk the entire distance in front of the wall and towers to reach the entrance, of which seven steps carved into the solid rock survive. The foundations of a building used to guard the entrance have also been discovered near the entrance.

Eight rooms were found in the fort, built side by side. They were multi-storeyed, with the ground floor serving as a storehouse or water reservoir and the upper floors being inhabited. Numerous iron, bronze and silver objects were found during the excavations of the fortress. Of interest is the discovery of 71 iron arrows, parts of helmets, axes, bronze and silver crosses, etc. The 14 clay vessels and collective finds of copper coins testify to the intense life in the fortress during the Second Bulgarian State.
