2. “Champion” Eco-Trail – the only one in Bulgaria starting from a school yard
The “Champion” eco-trail is unique – it is the only eco-trail in Bulgaria that begins from a schoolyard, namely the yard of “P. R. Slaveykov” Secondary School in Kardzhali. It was created in 2008 through a project by the “Rodopea – Balkanica” Association and with the voluntary work of students and teachers. The route is easy and pleasant, running mostly parallel to the Kardzhali reservoir. This guarantees picturesque views and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a nature walk.
3.The path to Apti Shelter – a new route with incredible panoramas For lovers of lesser-known routes, the walk to the Apti shelter is a great choice. The starting point is the Rezbarci neighborhood bus stop, from where a forest trail begins that is yet to be officially marked. During the ascent, you will enjoy beautiful views both of the Kardzhali reservoir and the city itself. Near the shelter, there is a wide clearing ideal for picnics and outdoor games.
